Duties & Responsibilities
  • Manages municipal-like departments including public safety, public works & planning, natural resources, fire, and communications.
  • Responsible for ensuring appropriate, timely and accurate communication of information to Tribal Government entities and enterprises, and the Tribal Community.
  • Assists in the development, implementation, and monitoring functional areas of strategic plans associated with those specific areas of oversight delegated by the Tribal Council.
  • Assists in issuing and monitoring the adherence and execution of all MPTN Governmental and enterprise staff instructions regarding the implementation of Tribal Council's plans, directives and instructions.
  • Represents the Tribal Council when and where authorized and may be required to act on behalf of the Tribal Council in the maintenance of liaison with federal, state, local and other Tribal governments and business units, partnership and joint activity groups, and in conjunction with the MPTN Public Affairs Group.
  • The Tribal Council is seeking candidates who are strong leaders in government administration with a proven record of providing effective leadership. Ideal candidates will be able to drive innovation and move agendas forward in a multi-stakeholder environment. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills and significant career success in building collaborative, effective relationships with a proven history of leading diverse communities.
