Finance Director

Essential Functions: Provides economic development and business investment policy and program recommendations. Determines sound business opportunities by analyzing and developing proposals, including negotiations, for Tribal Council and Executive Team (economic development advisory board) review. Performs financial feasibility assessments and pro forma analysis of proposed investments. Conducts due diligence on investment opportunities and makes investment recommendations to Tribal Council and Executive Team with all required information and supporting documents for review. Prepares, updates, tracks and implements economic development strategic plans tiered to Tribal Council policy and plans and for assigned investment and development projects. Establishes project timelines and critical path objectives. Develops and evaluates business plans, project budgets, financial data, and market reports. Develops sound financial plans (including revenue and profit goals, cost reductions) and oversees operating budgets for the projects. Negotiates and monitors related contracts and consulting agreements. Manages, monitors, measures, and reports on program and project performance and recommends remedial or corrective action where necessary, including exit strategies when necessary. Responsible for income calculation and valuation of assigned investments. Keeps abreast of related interests and serves as a Tribal representative in the local, state, and Indian business community to further economic development opportunities for the Tribe. Researches, develops, and analyzes demographic and economic data including economic forecasting to spot opportunities and trends in investments. Works collaboratively as a team member alongside Tribal managers and employees and in a professional and courteous manner with Tribal Council, the Tribal Membership and the community. Collaborates with tribal entities, such as the Tribal Employment Rights Office (TERO), on a regular basis. Works in a professional and courteous manner, as a representative of the Tribe, with all those with whom coming in contact to include federal and state agencies, business enterprises, vendors, and contractors. Embraces, supports, and promotes established Tribal values such as integrity, honesty, loyalty, accountability, and trust. Attends the regular General Council Meeting to assist Tribal Council as needed with response and communication to the membership. Regular attendance is required for this position. Performs a variety of other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Supervisory: Ensures the hiring, training, promoting, assigning, disciplining and discharging of employees are in accordance with Tribal Law, including without limitation, the Tribal Employment Rights Ordinance (TERO). Assures staff adherence to all policies and procedures, work, safety and administrative rule, Tribal Law and State Regulations. Serves as a mentor, as requested, for Tribal career development

Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde Community of Oregon

The Economic Development Director is responsible for the administration and management of assigned economic development projects at all stages. The Economic Development Director works in conjunction with Tribal Council, and the Executive Team (acting as an advisory board) for economic development strategy and priorities. The Director oversees the related activities of consultants and other professionals. The Director analyzes business proposals and opportunities, performs preliminary feasibility assessments, provides due diligence, prepares project budgets and business plans, takes a leading role in contract negotiations, coordinates economic development activities and program plans, writes status reports, and assists in related income calculation and valuation of business investments. This position may be based out of the Portland or Grand Ronde office and required to commute depending on location.

Education, Experience, and Licenses: Requires a bachelor’s degree in a directly relevant field of study such as economics, finance, accounting, or business administration. Master’s degree in Business Administration or directly relevant and justified specialized master’s degree program preferred. Requires 7 years of experience in the acquisition and successful management of business investments, the evaluation of business operations, performance and finances, the development and implementation of relevant risk analysis and due diligence procedures, or similar work. Accredited or certified as a financial analyst, public accountant, or project manager relevant to business investments is desirable. Driving Requirements: This position may require driving. Qualifications, Registrations, and Certifications: Ability to read and understand business financial statements and pro forma statements. Ability to interpret financial information, including cash flow, profit trend, and return on investment. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical material and legal documents. Economic Development Director

Finance Technician

Hold Court and conduct hearings regularly at a designated time and place.

Serve for approximately 20 hours per week.

Issue any writs or orders necessary and proper to the complete exercise of the court jurisdiction, or cause a court to act where such court unlawfully fails to act within its jurisdiction.

Administer oaths and otherwise undertake all duties and exercise all authority of a judicial officer under the law.

Hear and decide all cases properly brought before the court.

Enter all appropriate orders and judgments.

Keep all court and other records as may be required.

Oversee jury selection and provide instructions to jurors.

Comply with the Winnebago Code of Judicial Conduct and all other applicable tribal laws and rules.

Be responsible for all of the Court’s administration that do not fall under the purview of the Tribal Court Administrator, including but not limited to developing forms for self-represented litigants, developing court policy and local court rules, and representing the Court in external matters.

Winnebago Tribal Court 

The Winnebago Tribal Court and Supreme Court are courts of record, having civil and criminal jurisdiction over all causes of action under the jurisdiction of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska. Judges shall conduct hearings and issue all orders and papers incident thereto, in order to administer justice in all matters within the jurisdiction of the Court. Judges shall take an oath to support and protect the Constitution of the Winnebago Tribe and to administer justice in all causes coming before him/her with integrity and fairness, without regard to the persons before him/her.

At least ten (10) years’ experience as a Tribal Judge or practicing Indian law preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of Tribal Federal Indian law and policy preferred.

Extensive experience working in a tribal community preferred.

Be an attorney or an Indian graduate of an American Bar Association approved law school.

Demonstrate a moral integrity and fairness is his/her business, public and private life.

Have no conviction of a felony, whether or not actually imprisoned.

Have no convictions of any offense, except traffic offenses, for a period of two years preceding his/her appointment. The two-year period shall begin from the date the person was unconditionally released from supervision of any sort as a result of a conviction.

Have regularly abstained from the excessive use of alcohol and or/ any use whatsoever of illegal drugs or psychotoxic chemical solvents.

Not be a member of the Tribal Council, or the holder of any other elected tribal office of this tribe, provided that a candidate who is a member of the Tribal Council, or the holder of some other elective tribal office, may be confirmed as a judge subject to his/her resignation. Upon resignation from his/her office, he/she may be sworn in as and assume the duties of judicial office.

· Take and edit photo/video content with Eighth Generation’s iPhone and digital SLR.

· Write social copy for posts and add transcriptions where necessary.

· Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions, and respond promptly and appropriately to engage with our audience and address inquiries or concerns.

· Monitor key social media metrics and analytics to evaluate the performance of content and campaigns.

· Stay up-to-date with social media trends and best practices and leverage those to grow our accounts.

· Host giveaways on social media accounts.

· May assist on off-site photo shoots throughout the year (driving reimbursed).

· Assist with general marketing tasks as needed.

Under the Director of Marketing, the Social Media Manager will work closely with Eighth Generation’s marketing team and manage Eighth Generation’s social media accounts, creating daily content and engaging digital audiences by blending trending, product, and educational posts. The Social Media Manager may also assist in other daily marketing tasks. Our goal is to share authentic Native art, excellence, and values with a global audience while empowering customers to shop Native. 

Minimum 2 years’ experience in social media account management
