NCAI Issues Statement About Passing of President Dr. Clinton M. Pattea of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation

Washington, DC – The National Congress of American Indians has issued the following statement by President Jefferson Keel on the passing of President Dr. Clinton M. Pattea of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation.

“Throughout his long career, Dr. Pattea built a lasting foundation for Indian Country’s success by championing Native rights and advocating for all Native peoples. His commitment to tribal economic success and improving the education, health, and wellness of our children is a legacy that will benefit our nations for generations to come. Dr. Pattea was a shining example of courage and leadership for all Americans. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Pattea family, and all of the citizens of the Fort McDowell Yavapai Nation, as they face the loss of such a great leader.”
