NCAI President Keel to Deliver State of Indian Nations Address; U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell to Deliver Congressional Response

Jefferson Keel, President of the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) will deliver the annual State of Indian Nations Address on Thursday, February 14, 2013 from Washington, DC. Immediately following Keel’s address, U.S. Senator Maria Cantwell of Washington State, the new chairwoman of the Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, will deliver the Congressional Response. Both speeches will be delivered from the Newseum’s Knight Studio. The event will be broadcast live via www.ncai.org/live.

The State of Indian Nations address, scheduled for 10:30 a.m. eastern, will be held at the Newseum in Washington, DC in the building’s Knight Studio for television broadcast. As is tradition, the State of Indian Nations address is scheduled just days after the United States President delivers the State of the Union.
