The National Congress of American Indians (NCAI) extends its condolences to the families and community members affected by the tragic shooting in the Gila River Indian Community.

“We are heartbroken to learn of this tragedy at the Gila River Indian Community,” said NCAI President Mark Macarro. “We extend our deepest condolences to the families of Officer Joshua Briese and the Gila River Indian Community member who were killed. This terrible loss is felt deeply across Indian Country, and we send our benevolent prayers to those injured for recovery and healing.”
