Culture Keepers Tribal Leadership Coaching Specialist

The Culture Keepers Fellowship Tribal Leadership Coaching Specialist will work with the team responsible for accomplishing the goals of the Center for Workforce Equity and Leadership project. This position will work to advance tribal leaders as culture keepers by leading tribal child welfare cohorts through the Culture Keepers Fellowship Program, grounded in tribal culture, values, and priorities and aimed at decolonizing tribal child welfare programs while prioritizing cultural well-being.

Job Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in human services, social work, or related fields is required. • Master’s degree in human services, social work, or related fields is preferred. • 5-7 years of experience working in a tribal child welfare program operated by a federally recognized tribe. • A strong belief in tribal sovereignty, self-determination, and decolonization. • A strong understanding of historical trauma, tribal sovereignty, systemic racism, and training and support needs of the Tribal child welfare workforce. • Knowledgeable about working within Tribal customs, government, and family structures. • Knowledgeable of Tribal, Federal, and State laws, policies, and regulations that impact Indian Child Welfare programs. • Experience developing and coaching emerging leaders or experience completing a child welfare leadership program is preferred. • Demonstrable understanding of systemic racism and methods to build anti-racist systems. • Demonstrable problem-solving project management experience and skills. • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills. • Strong organizational, time management, and verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. • Ability to work collaboratively and adapt to changing environments. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. • Proficiency in project management tools and software, including Asana. • Experience with cloud-based hosting platforms like Google Docs. The Culture Keepers Tribal Leadership Coaching Specialist will: ● Assist the team in selecting three tribal sites. ● Assist the team in developing work plans for fellowship implementation for each site. ● Assist in the design and development of the Culture Keepers Fellowship Program. ● Facilitate learning and engagement amongst tribal cohorts utilizing the Culture Keepers curriculum. ● Engage and support Indigenous Knowledge Bearers within selected sites to provide input and tribe-specific adjustments to the fellowship program. ● Conduct and engage in ongoing assessments with site participants and work in a group process. ● Maintain efficient, effective communication with CWEL Team, and daily communication with supervisor and other team members. ● Structure and facilitate supportive individual and group coaching sessions with fellowship participants. ● Facilitate monthly training with tribal sites. ● Facilitate peer support meetings for Culture Keeper Fellowship alumni. ● Provide support and guidance for pilot sites to achieve identified goals. ● Assist with creation of tools and resources for broad audience dissemination based on lessons learned. ● Meet grant deliverables in a manner that is focused on goal attainment. ● Attend OICWA Quarterly business meetings, OICWA committee meetings, and the OICWA Annual Conference. ● Attend required CWEL meetings. ● Be an active participant and contributor to all relevant meetings, calls, and partner activities. ● Other duties as assigned.

$75,000 - $80,000 annually
