The Wichita and Affiliated Tribes Tax Commission was established on January 28, 1993
by Resolution WT-93-17 enacting Chapter One of the Wichita General Revenue and Taxation Act of 1993. The Wichita Tax Commission was created to provide for the administration and enforcement of the Taxation Laws of the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes.
Located in Anadarko, Oklahoma, the Wichita Tax Commission is seeking proposals from qualified law firms to provide legal services in various areas, with a focus on:
• The administration and enforcement of the Tribe’s General Revenue and Taxation Act
• Supporting business enterprises operated by the Commission
• Representing the Wichita Tax Commission in federal, state and tribal courts
• Conducting legal research
• Reviewing contracts, leases and related documents
• Other duties as assigned.
Scope of Services:
Under the guidance of the Tax Commissioners or their designee, the selected law firm will provide legal services to the Wichita Tax Commission. Proposals must demonstrate a detailed understanding of, and experience with federal, state and tribal laws relevant to the Wichita Tax Commission. The firm’s proposal should outline expertise and experience in the following key areas:
• Legal representation in federal, state and tribal courts
• Drafting regulations, ordinances and other legal documents
• Providing legal opinions and advice, including precedent-setting work
Fee Structure:
Proposals must include a detailed fee structure, outlining the proposed rates for staff and other associated costs. The fee structure must include the following:
• A breakdown of staff levels and corresponding hourly rates.
• An itemized list of all additional expenses or fees, including travel and other relevant costs
