Eligibility Requirements: To be eligible for the Wy’east Nursing Pathway, the following criteria apply:
Duties and Responsibilities: The Wy’east Nursing Pathway is a nursing, post-baccalaureate (or post-bachelor's degree) health education pathway designed for American Indian and Alaska Native (AIAN) learners who are committed to becoming nurses and advanced practice nurses. The Wy’east Nursing Pathway begins with an initial 3-month tuition-free preparatory period from late March through early June of each calendar year, after which you receive a certificate of completion and matriculate into the School of Nursing at OHSU.
As a Wy’east Nursing scholar, you will then receive support and guidance throughout the 15-months required to complete the Accelerated Bachelors Program (ABS) or the 15-month plus 3 years required for the ABS to Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) or Psych Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) Doctor of Nursing Practice (D.N.P.) Programs.
Stipend: Scholars receive a stipend of approximately $1195 per month.
