The Tribal/Interior Budget Council (previously the Bureau of Indian Affairs/Tribal Budget Advisory Council) was established in 1999 to facilitate tribal government participation in the planning of the BIA budget and includes two tribal representatives from each of the 12 BIA regions.

The mission of the TIBC is: to provide an advisory government-to-government forum and process for Tribes and the Department to develop budgets that allow for the fulfillment of tribes' self-determination, self-governance, sovereignty, and treaty rights, as well as sufficient levels of funding to address the needs of Tribes and their tribal citizens.

NAFOA - 37th Annual Conference

The National Museum of the American Indian celebrates Cherokee history during the sixth annual Cherokee Days festival 

featuring the three federally recognized Cherokee tribes—Cherokee Nation, United Keetoowah Band of Cherokee Indians and Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians.The free three days of festivities include the installation of the original Treaty of New Echota (1835) with the Cherokee Nation, two banner exhibitions “The Cherokee Culture” and “A Story of Cherokee Removal,” and a festival full of cultural demonstrations and performances.This event showcases the shared history and cultural life-ways of the three Cherokee tribes through storytelling, traditional games, basket weaving, and pottery demonstrations, along with music and dance performances.

2019 Self-Governance Annual Consultation Conference

Each year, NICWA hosts the largest national gathering on American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) child advocacy issues. With over 1,100 attendees—and growing every year—this four-day conference has become the premiere national event addressing tribal child welfare and well-being. Keynote speakers range from federal officials at the highest level of government to youth with lived experience in child welfare systems. NICWA provides meaningful programming to conference attendees, creating a space where participants can learn about the latest developments and best practices from experts in the field and from one another. Participants represent a cross-section of fields and interests including child welfare, mental health, and juvenile justice service providers; legal professionals; students; advocates for children; and tribal, state, and federal leaders. 2019 USET Tribal Utility Summit

The 44th Annual Northwest Indian Youth Conference will be taking place on March 17-21,2019 in Fort Hall, Idaho. The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes is hosting the event. The first night (Sun) will be arts & crafts, poetry jam, and open mic. The second day (Mon) will be a full day of leadership topics and workshops. The third day (Tue) will consist of wellness mind, body, and soul. The fourth day (Wed) will focus on cultural arts and presentations and held at the Shoshone-Bannock Jr./Sr. High School. The last day (Thur) will be the college and career preparation day will be held at Idaho State University. The Pow-Wow will take place in the evening on Thursday, March 21 at the Shoshone-Bannock Hotel and Event Center. The event information is located at
