NCAI designed this comprehensive series of three animated “explainer” videos to educate current and future tribal leaders, key decision-makers, citizens, other Indian Country stakeholders, and non-Native policymakers about the vital importance of Native-owned small businesses to the rebuilding of vibrant Native economies, and how tribal governments can best support the cultivation of a vibrant small business ecosystem in and around tribal lands.

To celebrate and honor the historic and cultural contributions of California Native Americans, the 52nd Annual California Native American Day will take place on the west steps of the 

Native American Day began in California in 1939, when Governor Culbert Olson dedicated October 1st as “Indian Day.”

In 1968, California Tribal Leaders and Governor Ronald Reagan declared the fourth Friday of September as “California Indian Day.”

The “Native American Day” celebration on September 25, 2015, is an official State holiday, pursuant to Assembly Bill 1953 (Baca) and signed into law by Governor Pete Wilson on September 21, 1998. Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr., in 2011 wrote a Governor’s Proclamation highlighting this momentous and important day.

The Native American Day Celebration has become a time honored tradition in the Native American community.

52nd Annual California Native American Day

 is hosting a national webinar with federally recognized tribes across the country. This webinar is part of the Census Bureau’s ongoing efforts to improve and maintain a government-to-government relationship with tribes. This consultation is to discuss our proposed 2020 Census data products and the 2020 Disclosure Avoidance System (DAS). The DAS is a new, advanced, and far more powerful confidentiality protection system than previously used that employs a rigorous mathematical process to protect respondents’ information and identity.

This national webinar will provide a forum for the tribes to share insights, make recommendations, and discuss concerns with the Census Bureau, related to the transition to a new DAS to protect information provided by respondents on the 2020 Census, and publishing detailed race and ethnicity data from the 2020 Census, including detailed data on the American Indian and Alaska Native populations.

"Tribal Nations Soaring to New Heights" refers to the unprecedented number of native people in high level government positions, as well as professions that serve tribes and their members.

Formed in 2002, SAIGE is the first national non-profit organization representing American Indian and Alaska Native Federal, Tribal, State, and local government employees.

SAIGE hosts an outstanding Annual National Training Program, open to all, focused on professional development, leadership and topics related to the complex Federal Indian Trust Responsibility. Integral to this, SAIGE provides specialized training sessions for Veterans and college-aged Youth.

7th Annual Enhanced Tribal Card Informational Session

This spring, the Native Farm Bill Coalition is organizing a series of “fly-ins” for Tribal leaders and Native producers across the country to talk directly with members of Congress, their staff, and the Biden Administration. By participating in these fly-ins, Coalition members will have the opportunity to advocate for policy changes that would positively impact Indian Country, such as strengthening tribal self-governance, allowing Tribes to manage nutrition programs, investing in economic development opportunities in rural communities, and much more.
