Most of our students come from the Leech Lake Reservation. LLTC was accredited as a post-secondary Vocational School in 1993 and later awarded candidacy status with the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association in 2002 for its associate degree programs and continued candidacy in 2004. Leech Lake Tribal College is seeking visionary educational leader who fosters community both inside and outside the college, especially with tribal communities and institutions, but also those entities that enrich the college and its students. The president will serve as the Chief Executive Officer and is responsible for the total operation of the college reporting to its Board of Trustees. The President has full authority to administer and manage day-to-day operations of the college including delegations as appropriate. Brief Statement of Duties: The Northern Michigan University (NMU) Center for Native American Studies seeks applicants for a Tenure Track faculty position in Native American Studies. We invite applicants to join our longstanding and vibrant Native American Studies Program for a tenure-earning Assistant Professor position. Odewining (the place of the heart), or the Center for Native American Studies, is part of Northern Michigan University, which resides on the ancestral homelands of the Anishinaabe Three Fires Communities, in gichi-namebini ziibi (Marquette, Michigan). The mission of the Center for Native American Studies is to offer a holistic curriculum rooted in Native American themes that challenges students to think critically and communicate effectively about Indigenous issues. It emphasizes Great Lakes Indigenous perspectives, stimulates further respectful inquiry about Indigenous people, and provides active learning and service learning opportunities that strengthen student engagement, interaction, and reciprocity with Indigenous communities. The National Native American Boarding School Healing Coalition 

Oral Historians will interview and document the oral histories of survivors of Indian Boarding Schools in the United States. Interviews are currently scheduled through June 2026 with potential, but no guaranteed, follow-up work to continue through December 2026. This unprecedented collection of recorded experiences of boarding school survivors is part of a large project of the National Native American Board School Healing Coalition (NABS). Oral Historians will be supervised by and provided guidance by the Oral History Project Co-Directors.

$27-$33/Hour, approx. 100-120 hours a month

POSITION SUMMARY The Healing Programs Coordinator is responsible for supporting and implementing programming centered on healing for Boarding School Survivors and Staff. Healing Programs Coordinator 

MAJOR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Implement Tribal Council goals into actionable policies and programs. 2. Serve as the primary liaison between the Tribal Council and Tribal government operations. 3. Lead long-term planning efforts to support economic development, infrastructure, health, education and cultural preservation. 1. Establish credibility throughout the organization and with the Council as an effective developer of solutions to organizational challenges and opportunities. 2. Effectively implement and communicate Tribal goals, objectives, policies and procedures in accordance with strategic plans. 3. Achieve financial objectives by providing leadership in the preparing and administering of the annual program budgets, presenting budget recommendations with justification to Council. 4. Review activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives and revised objectives; and plans in accordance to current conditions. 5. Hold regular meetings with department/program directors to foster increased communication and interaction between departments. 6. Effectively communicate the Nooksack Indian Tribes values, strategies and objectives to internal and external audiences. 7. Direct on-going research and planning to obtain information and community input regarding the social and economic needs of the community served. 8. Nooksack Indian Tribe 

The General Manager serves as the chief administrative officer of the Tribe, responsible for the overall leadership, coordination, and operational effectiveness of Tribal government programs and services. Reporting directly to the Tribal Council, the General Manager ensures that the Tribe’s strategic goals, cultural values, and community priorities are implemented through effective governance, sound management, and collaborative leadership. The General Manager via the leadership of the Service Department Administrator and the Operations Department Administrator, is responsible for the overall operations of departments, programs and services provided by the Nooksack Tribal Council for the Tribal membership. The General Manager ensures alignment of departmental operations with Tribal Council directives, strategic plans and community needs while fostering a culture of accountability, transparency and continuous improvement across the organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The following qualifications are required for the incumbent to have, in order to be considered for the position. 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING FOR THE POSITION: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Tribal administration, public administration, business administration, or related field; AND o Minimum of five (5) years of experience at a Director or higher level managing multiple, diverse departments, specifically related to the area of responsibility; AND o Minimum of four (4) years of experience administering Tribal programs and working in a Tribal Government environment; AND o Proven fiscal skills including effective oversight of budgets in excess of $40 million. The majority of the work will be in an office environment with little exposure to noise or outside weather conditions. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. May have to walk/drive between office locations under a variety of conditions.

The successful candidate for Executive Director will:

Collaborate with the Board to ensure financial and other organizational accountability

Work with the Management Team to lead the organization

Supervise, support, and assist staff reporting directly to the Executive Director: Finance Manager, Programs Director, and Grants Manager

Fulfill administrative tasks and otherwise attend to day to day tasks as needed within the organization

Begin the process of information capture and analysis for the development of a strategic plan, drawing on input from the Board, management team, and staff

Develop and maintain organizational policies and procedures using a trauma informed lens

Cultivate and maintain relationships with leadership from Utahs eight tribal nations and others in the Great Basin Region

Work with staff to develop and sustain working relationships with tribal DV/SA programs and Native serving programs working with DV/SA survivors

Attend state/tribal/federal policy meetings, participate in and advocate for Native survivors at state/federal workgroups and taskforce meeting, and participate in community level meetings

Collaborate with the Board to oversee and participate in fundraising efforts, including grant writing, donor relations, and fundraising activities

 committed to ending gender-based violence. The successful candidate will be familiar with working alongside tribal communities, understand the dynamics of sexual and domestic violence, and possess experience leading complex community-based organizations.

The ideal candidate will bring an understanding of 

nonprofit budgeting, administration, and strategic leadership

 grounded in trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices.

 of senior level professional, educational, and/or lived experience that demonstrates knowledge and ability in the following areas:

Experience with domestic and sexual violence advocacy, trauma-informed care, and developing survivor-centered policies and procedures.

Demonstrated success in influencing or advancing policies and systems change that improve outcomes for Native survivors and tribal communities.

Proficiency in using technology and software such as Apple systems, iOS, and Microsoft 365, or a willingness and initiative to learn.

Nonprofit management experience, including:

Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to deliver presentations, write reports, and communicate effectively with funders, partners, and donors.

Extensive experience leading teams, supervising staff, and fostering collaborative, inclusive work environments.

Preferred qualification: applicant will hold a bachelors degree in nonprofit management, public administration or related field.

This position will work in an office setting with some remote work.

Must be able to work outside of normal working hours, including evenings and weekends.

Travel in and out of state. Use of personal vehicle for in-state travel is required, must possess a valid drivers license and proof of auto insurance.

Will occasionally require lifting of heavy materials and equipment up to 25 pounds.
