The Role

Work Environment

Chief Pharmacist 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Monitor compliance with TERO and safety requirements; identify issues, document findings, and escalate concerns through the established chain of command. 2. Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe 

SUMMARY: The Compliance Officer supports the TERO Department by helping secure compliance under Title VII exemption law, EEOC requirements, and other relevant federal, Tribal, and safety compliance standards. This position monitors contractor compliance supports accurate documentation and reporting and assists with fair and consistent application of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe’s TERO Ordinance and related requirements. The Compliance Officer develops working knowledge of TERO, EEOC, and applicable federal laws to help protect the Tribe’s interests and support safe, compliant job site practices.

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS: • A.A/A.S in the legal field or High school diploma with at least one year experience in any area of compliances, safety or legal field. • Certifications & Licenses: OSHA 10 (or willingness to obtain after hire); valid driver’s license. OSHA 30 or willing to secure after hire. Compliance Officer 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Meets with the Tribal Council in regular and special meetings; provides information and/or reports regarding tribal operations, services and programs; ensures appropriate staff are in attendance; advises Tribal Council in their deliberations on planning, policies and/or laws/ordinances. 2. Track all Tribal Council directives, assign them to appropriate department leaders, and ensure timely, clear reporting of outcomes back to council. Ensure directives are clear, in writing, and have a timeline for completion. 3. Ensure that staff carry out directives and policies of the Council utilizing the appropriate chain of command. 4. Responsible for the implementation of policies and procedures approved by the Tribal Council. Provides notification to the organization of all new policies and procedures with the effective date. 5. Confers with staff and others on various operations, planning, economic development, financial and administrative matters; reviews contracts, ordinances, plans, reports, programs and procedures and provides directives/recommendation. Ensures open communication among all staff. 6. Participates in Federal, Tribal, Regional and State organizations, commissions, task forces and groups, to promote tribal programs, services and/or activities; represents the Tribe in advocating and testifying on legislation regarding American Indian related issues. Develop plans and strategies to implement and carry out specific legislative and policy directives of the Tribal Council. 7. Reviews reports, surveys and studies in order to keep abreast of information and significant findings to the Tribal Council and the organization. 8. Yurok Tribe 

POSITION SUMMARY: The Yurok Tribal Chairperson delegates their Chief Executive Officer responsibility for management and day-to-day operations to the Executive Director, who has the authority to carry out these responsibilities, in accordance with the direction and policies established by the Council. The Executive Director also provides directions and guidance to the Yurok Council as it carries out its governance functions. Under guidance of the Yurok Tribal Council the incumbent is responsible for the effective and efficient administration of overall Tribal operations, including guiding Tribally-owned corporations when specifically delegated, serves as the principal operating executive for implementation of the Tribal policies and legislative directives including the direct oversight of the department Directors and/or Deputy Executive Directors as well as staff in the Administration Department. The Executive Director directs and oversees the development of all Yurok Tribe programs, plans, and budgets. Incumbent will provide supervisory duties and leadership to the Yurok Tribe department Directors and/or Deputy Executive Directors in the performance of their assignments as well as issue directives designed to accomplish the goals and objectives set by Council. Provides initiative in identifying the need for action by the Yurok Tribal Council to develop or revise policies and procedures. Incumbent is accountable for achieving Council goals and objectives and for compliance with policy directions.

Alliance of Tribal Coalition to End Violence 

The Alliance of Tribal Coalitions to End Violence (ATCEV) is a national membership-based nonprofit working to advance Tribal sovereignty and the safety of American Indian and Alaska Native women by providing training, technical assistance, and support to Tribal Coalitions and Tribal communities in their efforts to address equal justice for survivors of violence. 

The ATCEV seeks one or more experienced consultants to provide individualized and/or collaborative training, technical assistance, and support to organizations funded under the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)’s Rape Prevention and Education (RPE) Grants to Tribal Sexual Assault Coalitions program. The ideal consultant will support grantees in programmatic and financial grant management of the CDC RPE grant, building capacity, strengthening prevention strategies, ensuring program quality, and improving outcomes related to sexual violence prevention.

The ideal candidate will possess: (1) superior research and writing skills; (2) a strong academic performance history; (3) strong communication skills and (4) a commitment to tribal representation. Prior experience in the field of Indian law is strongly preferred. Skills: - Strong legal drafting skills with the ability to write clear and concise documents- Proficient in conducting thorough legal research using resources such as Lexis Nexis and Westlaw- Excellent negotiation skills to effectively represent clients' interests- Knowledge of legal administrative procedures and practices- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Qualifications: - Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school- Admitted to or ability to become admitted to practice law in Washington, DC- Prior experience working as an attorney or in a similar legal role is preferred but not required- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment
