Northwest Indian Fisheries Commission

Policy Analyst, Forest and Agricultural Practices

The Longhouse Steward is responsible for establishing, supporting, and promoting campus and community activities and partnerships that encourage student retention, a sense of belonging, and success at LCC. The Longhouse Steward will also establish and maintain relationships with constituents and communities outside the college to ensure student success and foster community cohesion. The Longhouse Steward is required to work diplomatically and confidentially on sensitive matters with constituents and students, faculty, and all levels of administrators. Part of the constituent and community relations include supporting the facilitation of the Native American &  Longhouse Advisory Council and establishing/upholding the values of the Longhouse. The steward also oversees the cleanliness and maintenance of the physical and spiritual parts of the Longhouse. The steward is responsible for identifying and implementing facility repairs and upgrades. In addition, the steward is responsible for the scheduling of the Longhouse, following up with groups, and assisting groups with setups/cleanups as appropriate. Lane Community College

Executive Director 

Lead the market-based elements of the team’s wildfire resilience strategy and relevant utilization of advanced technology and artificial intelligence.

Contribute to the development of an evolving model for large landscape wildfire resilience for the western United States, identifying key elements required and making recommendations for delivering wildfire resilience through a combination of forest management, beneficial fire use, judicious fire suppression, and community design at a relevant scale to eliminate catastrophic and encourage beneficial fire.

Support tribally led wildfire resilience pilots and market-based strategies for pilot projects led by Native American Tribes in their aboriginal landscapes towards meeting those tribes’ ambitions for sovereignty over land and fire management.

Organize and manage Communities of Practice (COPs) to assess data needs and technology opportunities to facilitate and catalyze market development.

Environmental Defense Fund 

The Senior Manager, Markets and Technology, Wildfire Resilience will help build a transferable model of public/private partnerships for wildfire resilience in the western United States with a particular focus on implementing market-based solutions and utilization of advanced technology and artificial intelligence. This strategy will require a laser focus on implementing viable markets to contribute to success of pilot projects in 2 to 4 landscapes in multiple western states in collaboration with local partners and synthesis of knowledge from a variety of sources to build the capacity of wildfire resilience practitioners to implement market-based solutions. The key outcome from this strategy will be increased private investment in large landscape wildfire resilience and to generate revenue from market-based strategies to complement public sector investments. Our theory of change requires bridging on-the-ground problem solving with systems analysis and synthesis to build transferable models that influence policy development, private financial flows, and ultimately land and fire management at large scales.

As a part of this work, this position will work with Communities of Practice (COPs), small groups and networks of experts, stakeholders, practitioners, entrepreneurs, and through careful facilitation, assess relevant technological and AI needs and use cases and identify gaps and needs. Further, they will liaise with the Office of the Chief Scientist with regard to Earth Fire Alliance’s FireSAT project, an emerging constellation of satellites that will provide state-of-the-art remote sensing related to fire management.

The Senior Manager will report to the AVP, Wildfire Resilience, and collaborate deeply across the EDF matrix and a wide variety of external allies and partners.

8+ years of experience in market development and technology in a relevant field (e.g., natural resources, forestry, agriculture, energy, wildfire resilience) and a Bachelor’s degree required. A Master’s degree in natural resources, business, finance, management or related field is preferred and may substitute for up to 2 years of experience.

Senior Manager, Markets & Tech, Wildfire Resilience

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL Arizona Community Engagement and Partnership Support: Collaboratively conduct outreach with community members and local organizations to shape the curriculum for the WLI, recruit participants, and session speakers. Collaboratively develop culturally relevant curriculum focused on engagement and empowerment of water insecure communities. Attend and participate in meetings, planning sessions, set-up sessions, and other in-person gatherings to plan and prepare for events. Planning may also include administrative support like document and record storage, sign-up sheet management, etc. Provide facilitation support for the WLI Sessions and host focus group reflection sessions with cohort participants. This will require some travel throughout Southern Arizona including Tucson, Nogales, and other key spots throughout the Santa Cruz watershed. Work with key partners to collaboratively create a replicable place-based process guide for the WLI to help scale the program to other geographies and ensure that essential institutional knowledge and lessons learned from previous cohorts are retained. Support the outreach, planning of AZW4A network-building events to connect community needs and priorities to researchers and decision-makers. May provide wrap-up support to AZW4A, including coauthoring reports, distributing materials and analyzing data recordings to ensure community priorities are connected to researchers and the appropriate local decision-makers who can heed their concerns. May support the implementation of WLI alumni and partnership activities including a transboundary community science working group. Support in planning the Arizona Water for All community network launch event, including agenda creation, outreach and logistic support. Tribal EcoRestoration Alliance 

POSITION SUMMARY
The Fire Manager is an organized project manager and fire practitioner who thrives in carrying projects from planning to completion. The ideal candidate has strong grant and project management experience, knowledge of fire ecology of California coast range ecosystems, and significant experience in cultural burning, prescribed fire, and/or wildfire management. The Fire Manager will work closely and collaboratively with the Stewardship Director, Executive Director, TERA stewardship crew, training team, and partner
organizations, to plan and implement ecocultural burns on Tribal, private, state, and federal lands in Lake and Mendocino Counties and provide ecocultural fire training to TERA staff, our Tribal partners, and the broader community. The position is estimated to be approximately 75% administrative work in the office, and 25% field work.

Minimum Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s Degree in ecology, natural resources, forestry, or related field or
equivalent experience
● Familiarity with the concept and application of Traditional Ecological Knowledge
● Experience working with Tribal nations and knowledgeable about contemporary challenges, concerns, and interests of Lake County Tribal community and ecology
● 6 + years experience as Project Manager implementing fire, fuels management and/or restoration projects
● 6 + years fireline experience in cultural fire, prescribed burning, and/or wildfire management

Tribal EcoRestoration Alliance

POSITION SUMMARY The Human Resources Manager is an emotionally intelligent leader, highly skilled with coaching and mentoring diverse teams, and experienced in administering human resources. The Human Resources Manager will help TERA to manage existing personnel systems, and bottom-line processes that provide a solid foundation for TERA's growth and professional development of TERA staff. This involves developing and implementing HR policies, managing our Human Resources Information System (HRIS) managed via Bamboo HR, and maintaining accurate employee records. They will also manage recruitment for new team members, oversee employee benefit enrollment and annual benefit renewals, and support staff in creating career development plans, as well as provide soft skills professional development training for the TERA crew.
